About |
ELDERiDE was created by Jenny Fischer, who worked as a Diversional Therapist in Respite Care for the elderly for over 10 years. Jenny saw the need for elderly people to be able to have their independence for as long as they could, without having to ask family to help. ELDERiDE has been helping the elderly and infirmed on Sydney's north shore since 2001 and caters specifically for the socially isolated aged people in the community. Over the past ten years while working with these people in day care centres, Jenny saw a need for a personalised service such as this. As you are no doubt aware, people are living longer these days and are reluctant to leave their own homes to enter nursing homes or retirement villages. Families are often too busy to give their aged relatives the time and companionship that they need. There are many surveys and statistics that show that Australia's population is aging. ELDERiDE offers this growing proportion of the population freedom and independence whether they are still living at home, or have moved into retirement village or nursing home care. |
